We Are (Friends With) The (Flex) Champions

Both Brian and I are at DrupalCon 2008 in Boston this week. We will be giving our presentation about content-managed Flash and Flex sites with Drupal tomorrow night at 4:45 PM, but we’re both going to focus far more on the Drupal side of things and touch briefly on the ActionScript and Flash, so that even Flash and Flex neophytes will understand the entire backend, setup, and use cases.

If you would like to learn more about how to use the Flash / Flex stack, however, you have two options to get training from Developer Community Champions that we should mention.

If you are in Central Illinois, colleague and mashup maker extraordinaire Chad Udell will be presenting tonight in the Horowitz auditorium, GCC room 126 at 7 PM. He’ll be going over the basic elements of Flex, up to and including building an RSS reader for the MXNA news aggregator in just 13 lines of MXML markup. He’ll also be giving away a Flex book, training DVDs, and lots of other Flex goodies.

If you’re at DrupalCon with us, in the 5:00 PM slot tonight, you can catch Chris Charlton of the Rich Media Institute and the LA Flex User group. He will be presenting a session on Better Drupal User Interaction Design with Flex. Chris is another champion, and has recently authored a book on Flex.

Finally, don’t miss our presentation at the Con - it’s tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4th, from 4:45 PM to 6:00 PM in Room 253B.
